Hi there. I’m Amanda and I like long walks on the beach and candlelit dinners… ok a little too cliché, but those things do actually interest me! I decided to become a Marriage Celebrant after my partner and I were wed by a Shaman in the middle of ancient ruins just outside of Cusco, Peru. Though the proceedings were not legally binding – the excitement and intrigue of their local marriage customs captivated me and I wanted to be able to share this enjoyment with other couples.
Thus, it led me to study my Certificate 4 in Marriage Celebrancy and here I am today! Though you don’t need to speak Spanish and dress in colourful attire to be married by me, if that is something you think would suit you – then let’s do it! (full disclosure – my Spanish is very limited)
We more recently had our Australian wedding in March 2018 and it was much closer to the current Australian traditions of Baby’s Breath, Hessian and Lace – that too draws me in!! I really just do love a good nuptial!
I have always had a creative flair and have never been beaten by a challenge to create something unique and will not disappoint in creating a ceremony that reflects the love that two people share. I truly believe that being a Celebrant and helping couples with their special day is exactly what I am meant to be doing.
Lastly I would like to add, even more so with a few of my friends and family in same sex relationships- I am so happy that we have finally reached a time when we can all solemnise our love in the same way. Love is Love.
